The Chevy Chase West women's book club takes its name from Algonquin Round Table wit Dorothy Parker whose Constant Reader
reviews were often better than the books themselves.
We meet once a month in each other's homes, skipping August, usually a midweek evening at 7:45. Over dessert, we talk
about that month's book, then choose for the next month or two. Selections are mostly literary fiction, with a sprinkling
of non-fiction for a change.
Founded circa 1987, we've arranged for a book club discount at Politics & Prose and have included lawyers, journalists,
health professionals, retirees and at-home moms from our neighborhood and nearby. Everyone is welcome. Only requisite is a
love of reading.
